Catch up post to end all Catch up posts!

Wow, I can't believe just how fast time has slipped away from me I wish that I had kept up on all the fun times we have had this past year. It would take way to much to go back and break things down the way I would like to so I will just do the highlights (at least the ones that I can remember.)
In April I decided to take a huge leap of faith and decided to open my own Insurance Office in Salem. I have worked in the industry for years and have always loved the people. So I decided to open a Farmers Insurance office. It has been very stressful and fun. I enjoy going to work every day and love being my own boss. We tease Colby and tell him he is the paying CFO, one day he might be the real CFO and get paid for all he does.
We had the chance to test out just how well Farmers does on claims this summer, Unfortunately we had a few claims...actually 3 in 2 months and this past month Colby got in another one (none of the accidents he had where his fault.) Luckily everyone walked away from all of them without any injuries. 2 cars totalled but no one was hurt. And I haven't been cancelled, another blessing.
Brock was asked to play on an accelerated fall baseball team, he loved it and did very well. He went right from baseball into wrestling and is loving wrestling again this year. He has won all of his matches but 1. He is in 4th grade and doing well. We moved him over to Salem Elementary this year so that he could come to the office after school he is really liking it and making new friends.
Brett is in High School this year and last month got his official drivers license! YES!!!! It is sure nice to have him be able to drive where I need him to go. He is usually pretty good about running my errands. He is also wrestling again this year. He is at the 132 weight class, he wanted to go down to the 126 lbs. weight class but his body fat was only 2% so they said that he can't lose ANY weight. He started the season with a 7-2 record and all of the 7 wins where pins. He is such a smart kid we love having him in the family.
It has been a great year and we have enjoyed so many memories. I will be better at keeping up with them and recording them so I can go back and remember the fun times.

Wrestling Letter

The wrestling team had a dinner for everyone and gave out a few awards and a slide show of the season. It was a lot of fun and the highlight of our night was Brett getting his Varsity Letter. He worked really hard all season and was able to earn the letter. I told him that we needed to go over and get him a Letterman's jacket and he told me that he could wait until he was older because he didn't want to grow out of it. :) I told him that he can wait but he will want it once he is in high school. Brett we are so proud of you and your determination.

Wrestling 2010

Ok, I have been wanting to get this on the blog so that I have it. This year in November Brett decided that he wanted to try wrestling. I said ok what do we need to do? He said he didn't know but that they would be starting up soon and he wanted to wrestle with the High School rather than the Jr. High team. So we committed to driving him over every day after school (I can't wait until he can drive) He started out the year wrestling 135, he did great for never wrestling a day in his life. The coach told us that if he didn't win a match the entire season not to worry, that his 9th grade year was just about learning. So I was not too worried about him really wrestling. Little did I know that I was going to love it and he would do so well.
By the end of the year or season he had dropped down to wrestle in the 125lb. bracket, he excelled at this weight and took off. It was so fun to watch him each match and to see his determination. He would set goals each match and he would reach each goal. We went down to the tournament in St. George and he ended up taking 6th place there. I love watching him and cheering him on. He ended the season with a record of 13-13.
I am not really a fan of the singlets that they wear but I have to be impressed with his muscles. I wish I had some definition like that. I cant wait until next season.

Winter Fun

OK so I have been a little busy....I feel like I have totally fallen of the face of the earth. I have had tons of things that I wanted to put on the blog so that I would be able to have it when I print it out. I am surrendering to the fact that I SUCK at staying on top everything! It's OK, I am learning that I am not perfect at everything (for that matter even CLOSE) and that I can ask for help! :)
The Monday before Christmas Colby had to have surgery on his ankle to remove all of his hardware. He assured me that he would be fine and that it was in and out. Wouldn't you know I am smarter than I look and I was right, it was more than he thought and he was down for the count for several days! Also mother nature decided to bless us with a gift and dump 18-20 inches of snow that night! So Colby was NO help in keeping up with the walks and driveway! Once we dug ourselves and some of the neighbors out we decided that me and the boys would take advantage of the snow and go for a ride. We hooked on to the snowmobiles and off we went, it was so pretty up the canyon! I love to go out and play. I had never been out on my own with out Colby so I told the kids that they could not be all day and that they had to be safe. I didn't want to have to try to get them unstuck.
This is Brett, Kaid, Brock and me. I told them that I wanted a picture and they all laughed at me saying they didn't want to stop for pictures. So I had to beg and when it wasn't perfect they told me that it was tough and that it was it.

Brett has gotten to be quite the dare devil and he goes FAST! He loves to side hill, he told me that he will teach me how but I am not so sure that I am that daring!
Brock was the one who would pose for a picture for me. He is such a good kid. He wanted me to take him off of some jumps and I told him that there was no way - we didn't need to end the year like we started it.
